Being Thankful

In addition to the usual suspects (family, health, living in a house rather than a refrigerator box, and having a real job), I'm particularly thankful that I am a writer. Because although it keeps me busy and makes me sleep deprived at times and the rejection is a bit hard on the ego, writing gives me an outlet to deal (in a healthy way) with all the heartache and emotional turmoil that life chooses to throw my way. And it gives me a venue for sharing (or at least recording) all the emotion and observations--bad and good--I experience each day. So on this day of counting blessings, I'm going to count writing as one.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

I second that.

It is a great outlet. The best writing comes when we are not trying to get published.
